Why are all phones shifting to the type c charger?
Smartphones are occupying an important role in day-to-day life. With technological advancements, Android devices are incorporating plethora of modifications in order to continue to stay up to date with the mass software and hardware updates. The widely used micro USB ports will eventually be replaced by the type C USB port. Not just being universal, the type c charger is something unusual and has multitude of benefits for gadget lovers.
Micro USB VS Type C
A wide range of smartphones have experienced a major shift in the type of USB ports. The indelible Micro USB has been replaced by the type c ports which are a ways ahead than the traditional USB ports.
The first USB port into functioning was the type A, huge rectangular port that offered connectivity to all the laptops, midi controller, and the printers or charger heads. Being thick and huge, smartphone devices necessitated the need to have slimmer ports that could easily connect to all the USB devices and the handheld devices. However, the type b or the micro USB ports were one-sided and the fact that they incorporated the USB 2.0 variant deemed slower power output. Although there exists several 3.0 variants but they are rarely found.
Owing to few of the above backdrops in the micro USB technology, makers shifted their focus to a new port enabled which is universal and offers higher speed. The oval-shaped type c might be a bit longer than the traditional micro USB, yet accounts for multitude of benefits to be used. The oblong reversible shape enables you to plug it either way round eliminating the needs to focus while charging your device. Inducing the 3.0 and 3.1 USB variants, the type c chargers or the ports offer higher rate of transferring data and an increased throughout to enable faster charging.
Why companies are mitigating to type C?
With a power delivery of 100W, the data transfer rate of a type c charger is between 5 to 10 GPS. Moreover, the type c chargers were designed keeping in minds the universalization of USB ports. The type c chargers are one size fits all kind of chargers that can effectively connect to Cameras, HDMI, laptops, scanner, printers, game controller and of course smartphones. Apple has taken the prime initiative to replace all the type A ports with the universal type C ports in its laptops as well as tablets.
Owing to the above, type C would eventually challenge the traditional micro USB ports and how do people adapt to the same would be uncoiled in near future.
